History of Our Program

* Program started in 2011.
* All 3D targets were sponsored by local businesses. Without their support the the program could not have started.
* Received grant money at program startup to purchase bows and target backstops.
*Forty to eighty archers participate in our program each year.
* The archery program emphasizes safety and patience.
* The Canbow Archery Badge Program is followed. It is a great activity for the entire program. This program is affiliated with Alberta Target Archers Association (Alberta Archery).
* The VWF Archery club sponsors an annual 3D archery shoot every early summer (May or June). The 8th annual shoot was held at the VWF outdoor gun range.
*2018 saw six archers try out for the Alberta Winter Games. One archer made the team and three archers were chosen as alternates!
* 2016 saw seven of our archers participate in tryouts for the Alberta Winter games. Three archers made the team!
* 2014 saw one archer go to the Alberta Winter Games representing this zone!
